The evilution and the aliens make me thi short note review: Take a chance and make your kid a thinker I regard myself as relatively familiar with this subject matter and I still learned a few things from this book.

Sep 20, Bill rated it really liked it Shelves: After the invention of agriculture around 10, years ago, human populations actually got an average of five inches shorter. When I found this book, I initially thought it was a creationist attempt to win kids over. Really loved the well-drawn and well-plotted background story of a young alien prince and his father learning about Earthly evolution in hopes of saving their species.

However, some events were stated as fact when they’re actually just one plausible explanation of observed events, such as the meteor off the coast of Baja California causing the extinction of the dinosaurs. It is humorous with inuendos that often my 9th graders miss.
Even my elementary school age dau I loved this book from beginning to end. The book, like its predecessor, may be too dense with information-for instance, the 54 million years of the Cambrian period is covered in a mere six panels.

Kevin Cannon and Zander Cannonthe illustrators of numerous graphic novels and comic books, both live in Minneapolis. The Story of Life on Earth” in my next unit for all of my classes. I was skeptical of this book at first, but actually really enjoyed it. Hosler knows his subject, but his delivery is definitely academic.
