For questions and comments about this website: When I did Aikido, several years ago, my teacher knew a lot of bokken and jo katas and other three or four combinations moves small kata for bokken and jo that I don’t know how to call.
As far as I can tell, his newer Takemusu Aikido series doesn’t include the basic jo and bokken techniques at all, but there are some weapon-related techniques mostly takeaways in volumes 5 and 6. You can pick up bad habits that will be hard to erase and your ceiling will get long scratches. The only advice I can give you is to ask your sensei.

Chiba sensei has had a huge influence on Briitish Aikido and many people practice his bokken kata. Isn’t it enough for you?
All the kata will depend on which style you do. Aristos 4 There are some videoclips of katas and suburis in the web but I think is better to talk to your sensei.

There are a number of video resources available. Z should be S for South, but the rest should be ok for now. Of course for video the Saito Aiki-Ken and Aiki-Jo disks are excellent – although one of these days I need to get around to asking why Saito-sensei breaks his wrists at the end of the stroke and why he drops the sword behind his back at the beginning katq the stroke.

Does anyone know any good ktaa for bokken kata so that I can have something to learn and practice with at home?
